Often, yes — we'll say so directly. Java earns its complexity on large, long-lived, high-reliability systems; for a small MVP, a lighter stack usually serves you better and we'll recommend that instead.

Yes — migrating to Spring Boot and current Java versions incrementally is a common engagement, and it doesn't require freezing feature work for the duration.

Modern Java (records, pattern matching, var) plus disciplined use of Spring's conventions cuts a lot of the boilerplate that gave Java its reputation. We don't add Lombok or extra abstraction just to look modern.
